At Nikko Jujitsu School, we promote a practical, utilitarian system focused on self-defense and combat effectiveness. Our curriculum includes:

• Kickboxing – Striking Techniques (Kogeki Waza)
• Self Defense – Joint Locking, Standing Submissions (Yawara)
While the physical techniques form the core of our training, we also incorporate spiritual and esoteric elements that deepen your understanding of the art. Brief History of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu – Hawaiian Jujitsu
Danzan Ryu Jujitsu was founded in the early 20th century by Henry Seishiro Okazaki, a highly skilled martial artist and student of traditional Japanese jujitsu. Inspired by his experiences in Japan and his desire to create a practical, all-encompassing martial art, Okazaki developed Danzan Ryu to blend the traditional techniques of Japanese jujitsu with modern self-defense methods, including elements of boxing, wrestling, and Muay Thai. As an early pioneer in MMA, Okazaki fought no-holds-barred fights throughout the Hawaiian Islands during the early 1900’s.
Danzan Ryu emphasizes a practical, utilitarian approach to self-defense. It incorporates throwing, joint locks, choking, striking, and pinning techniques, making it adaptable for all ages and skill levels. Since its inception, Danzan Ryu has grown worldwide, recognized for its comprehensive curriculum and emphasis on respect, discipline, and self-improvement.
